From the description
Geneva to Nice by road — 635 kilometres, six hours, driven end to end with no
music and no narration. Leaving at 4:15 in the morning in the dark, through the
first tunnels, into sunrise, down through Provence on the Autoroute du Soleil,
and out onto the French Riviera.
⏩ Want to skip the dark? Sunrise is at 1:42:18.
The longest drive on Endless Roads so far, and the first to start at night. The
first ninety minutes are headlights, lit signs and orange tunnels; then the sky
opens and the whole day happens on the windscreen: ten degrees at the start,
twenty-eight by the end.
🔤 TURN CAPTIONS ON for the running commentary: the history of the places on the
signs, a breakfast stop, a coffee hunt that goes wrong twice before it goes
right, a windscreen that will not stay clean, and a queue-jumper at the toll.
Leave them off if you would rather just drive.
Recorded 12 September 2026. Shot in 4K at 60fps.

THE ROUTE
Geneva → Saint-Julien-en-Genevois → A41 through the Mont Sion tunnel, past
Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains → A43 through Savoie → A48 toward Grenoble → A49
toward Valence → breakfast at Aire Porte de la Drôme → A7, the Autoroute du
Soleil, past Montélimar → A8, La Provençale, toward Cannes and Nice → Nice.
Every place named here and on screen was read off a road sign in the footage.
The film stops in Nice traffic, short of the airport.
Tolls: French motorways charge almost the whole way. Paid by card and cash at
several booths, somewhere around €50 in total. An estimate, not a receipt.
